Entry Guidelines - Champion Workplace Safety

ACC Champion Workplace Safety Award

Recognises businesses that demonstrate excellence in health and safety systems and procedures. These businesses create a platform for health and safety to be owned by all, creating a positive health and safety culture.

Who should enter:

This category is open to any organisations who have exemplary workplace safety procedures in place.

As an entrant, we ask you to declare any involvement with a regulator e.g. WorkSafe, CAA, NZTA etc. as a result of an adverse event, or if a visit by a regulator resulted in the regulator requiring you to improve your health and safety systems in order to prevent an adverse event within the past 24 months.

  • Involvement won’t automatically preclude you from entry, becoming a finalist or winning; evidence of actions taken due any such involvement will allow us to fully consider your entry.
  • If you have proactively invited a review from a regulator and taken action as a result of that review, please present that information in your entry and/or to the judging panel, as it may provide an example or examples of continuous improvement within your health and safety system.
Please note - ACC will undertake checks as part of the performance assessment process if you become a finalist.
