Champion Canterbury Ltd is the company who runs the Westpac Champion Business Awards, which are 100% owned by the Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce. The Westpac Champion Business Awards began in 2003 and have grown and developed over the past 15 years to provide one of the largest business awards ceremony in New Zealand, with over 1,200 guests in attendance.
The Westpac Champion Business Awards recognise and celebrate the excellence, innovation, and success of businesses and not-for-profit organisations in the Canterbury region. There are award categories for all sectors and sizes. The awards region is defined by the Canterbury Regional Council boundaries.
The Awards receive significant media profile throughout the Awards programme, across a number of different channels during our six month campaign designed by our creative partner Harvey Cameron. Through the support of our Print Partner, The Press, each finalist is profiled through print and online channels gaining recognition across the country. The Awards programme is also supported by our Radio Partner, MediaWorks, expanding the exposure through radio. You will see our social channels - facebook, twitter and LinkedIn showing our high engagement. The Awards programme culminates in the largest business awards ceremony in New Zealand with numerous high profile guests in attendance.
